How To: Reset your browser’s settings to default
If you have ever wanted to restore your web browser to its
default settings, you will have noticed that uninstalling it does not
always do the trick. Most of the time, especially if you are logged in
with a user account, it just restores your personal settings when you
re-install the browser. However, you can restore the browser to default
by using their options menus. Be careful when using this feature.
Chrome
Go to the options menu and click on Settings. This will open a new tab. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and you should see the “Reset browser settings” option. Click on it and press Reset again to start the process. Be sure to uncheck the box in the bottom if you do not want to send Google your current settings.
Firefox
Click on the Help menu and then choose thee “Troubleshooting Information” option. This will open a new tab. In the top right corner you will see a “Reset Firefox to its default state” option. Click on the Reset Firefox button to revert the settings to default.
Internet Explorer
Click on Internet Options from the Tools menu. Navigate to the
Advanced tab. On the bottom of the window you will see a “Reset” button.
Click on it to restore the browser to its default settings.
Chrome
