Compared to its rivals from other platforms, Cortana is not yet on par. However, it keeps receiving useful features that have certainly set Microsoft’s virtual assistant on the right path. For example, we can now connect Gmail and Google Calendar to Cortana in Windows 10.
Once you do this, Cortana will be able to access your Gmail messages, as well as Google contacts and calendar events, as well as use voice commands for this purpose. By default, Cortana can only read emails from Outlook and the stock Mail app, calendar data from Outlook and contacts from the People app.

Assuming you heavily rely on Gmail and Google services rather than the ones provided by Microsoft, connecting them to Cortana will make the assistant much more useful. This will open the list of supported services.
Select Gmail. There’s no mention of Google Calendar or Google Contacts, but selecting this option will also connect them to Cortana.
You should also know that right now, you can’t connect multiple Google accounts at the same time. Hopefully, Microsoft will allow us to connect more than one Google account in a future update.
To continue click “Connect” and enter your Google credentials. From then on, Cortana will be able to access your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts data.
As you can see, Microsoft is trying to be as transparent as possible regarding how Cortana will handle your Google data, and also provides information on how you can revoke the assistant’s access to your Gmail data.
